Keywords versus data feeds:
Now that we have our niche selected, we need to have a method for promoting it. Many affiliates offer up product data feeds which gives you all of the info you need with little or no effort. The drawback to that is the fact that every one of your competitors has that same info, so it diminishes the value and increases the competition. Not to say data feeds don't work, quite the contrary, they can work very well. The point to take away from this is that there is likely an increased level of competition in the SERPS for the keywords and phrases found in these data feeds. This is where doing your own keyword research can pay off. By putting in the time and effort required to research your own keywords, you are likely to drive more traffic to your offers. Now, in order to turn that traffic into conversions you need to pay attention to the quality of that traffic.
